About object properties windows
The properties of all objects are displayed on a series of tabs in the
object properties window. Display this window to define, modify or view
the properties of an object.
The properties window always displays:
- The current status
of the object,
displayed on the General tab
- The history of
the object (the name of the user who created the object, the date of creation,
the date of last modification), displayed on the Signature
tab
How to display an object properties window
To display the properties of an object:
- Select the object in either
the navigator
pane
or the Entity
Browser.
- To display the object properties
window, double-click the object in the navigator pane. Alternatively,
click
on the toolbar or select Properties
from the File menu.
- The properties window is displayed
in the right pane. Click the tabs at the top of the properties window
to display the corresponding screen.
- If the object has the status
ToBeChecked or Checked,
a lock is set on the open object. This ensures that only one user can
work on an object at a time and prevents users from making conflicting
modifications to the same object.
What happens if an object is locked
If you try to open an object properties window that is already opened
by another user, Composer displays an information message that tells you
that the object is locked. You can open the object in read only mode.
