The left pane of each workbench is a navigator pane that displays all defined objects to which you have access. Each object type is represented by a node that can contain child objects.
In the Topography and Administration workbenches, objects are not contained in Folders and are listed in the navigator pane on a single tab.
In the Integration-Services workbench, objects are contained in Folders. The upper part of the left pane displays the set of WorkFolders to which you have authorized access. For details see the Working with Folders topic.
The lower part of the Integration-Services navigator pane displays a set of Axwayproduct-specific tabs, and, depending on the Axway products you installed, may also display a Infrastructure tab. The Infrastructure tab displays:
In the case of the Transfer CFT and Messaging Enablers, all objects are displayed on the same tab: the Infrastructure tab.
The navigator pane displays object names in gray if they belong to a parent Folder of the current WorkFolder.
The following table lists the objects displayed on the navigator pane for each workbench.

Objects in the Integration-Services workbench are stored in Folders. The navigator pane in this workbench displays all Topography objects in read only mode and all objects defined in the selected WorkFolder. For details see the Folder pane topic. The lower panel of the Integration-Services displays a Infrastructure tab that is available for all Axwayproducts. The Infrastructure tab displays the following objects that are common to all Axway products: In addition, the lower panel displays tabs specific to the Axway products installed with Composer. |
The navigator pane provides two views:
The hierarchical view displays objects in a tree structure that corresponds to the Topography object hierarchy. For example, Axway Servers are attached directly to a given Host. Hosts are attached to a given HostGroup, and so on. The hierarchical view is an image of the Topography and is dependent on the current Environment.
The Dictionary view displays objects by type. A node is displayed for each type of object (Partner, Application, and so on).
In the Topography workbench, the Dictionary view displays a node for the following objects:
In the Integration-Services workbench, the Dictionary view displays a node for the following objects:
Note: In Integration-Services, each dictionary node displays the objects in the selected WorkFolder. In Topography, each dictionary node displays the objects in the selected Environment .
When selecting objects in the Navigator, you have the option to simultaneously display the corresponding node in a corresponding tree. This gives you a better view of which object is modified and which other objects are of the same type in the same folder.
To toggle between a linked and unlinked view of the objects:
in the Browser Entity toolbar.
A node with sub-nodes is indicated by an arrow-tip. Click on it to expand the node and display the sub-nodes.
Use the icons at the top of the navigator pane to modify the display and expand or collapse the tree structure nodes.

In some cases, you may have a considerable number of objects to display in the navigator pane, which makes it difficult to find objects quickly. In addition, the number of objects displayed in the navigator is currently limited to 1000, so any objects that exceed the one thousandth object are not displayed at all. In this case, a red cross indicates that the limit is exceeded. To reduce the number of objects displayed, Composer provides a Filter button.
Select a node, for example Host,
and click
to filter the set of Host objects displayed. In
the Filter dialog box, enter one
or more characters in the Name
field. You can use the wildcard character * in the filter string. Optionally,
select the Case-sensitive option
to make the search case-sensitive.
The filtered nodes are displayed in blue. If
the result of the filter still exceeds the maximum number of objects (1000),
Composer displays the filter in red:
.
To remove the filter, click
and
deselect Filter.
In the Topography workbench where only one environment is selected, you can choose to display the objects in other environments by clicking the Display all the objects button
. Objects not in the current environment appear with a grayed-out icon in the tree structure and are read-only.
To go directly to a specific node, select a
parent node. Click
in the left pane to display the Go to dialog box. Enter the name, or
part of the name, of the child node you want to access in the Go
to field. You can enter one or more characters. For example, if
you enter a single letter A, the search goes to the first child node whose
name begins with A.
Note: the search criteria is case-sensitive.
Click Next to display the specified node. The Go to search mechanism only searches the first level of child nodes in the hierarchy.
Several users can access the same WorkFolder or Environment simultaneously. This means that if you modify an object, your modifications may have an impact on other objects in the same WorkFolder if a dependency link exists between the objects.
To enable you to see the latest, most up-to-date version of objects in the database, Composer provides a Refresh button.
Click in the navigator pane toolbar to refresh the
navigator pane display. Composer updates the entire tree of objects, including
nodes in the tree structure that are not currently open.
