Problem

On a new deployment, after configuring File Transfer Direct, you are able to log in via both the web client and the Ouglook plugin and send a package, but the package never reaches the recipient.  The File Tracking shows the package as available for download.  The event log in the Admin interface shows no errors.

Solution

This may occur if the Mail Server was not configured or was misconfigured.
If no Mail Server is specified, FTDirect doesn't know where to send packages and notifications for delivery.

In the Admin UI, go to:
Administration / System Settings / General / Mail Server

make sure the mail server and port are filled in, and use the Test button to verify that a connection can be made.
