Creating and deleting Folders

Before you define a new Folder, you must have access to the Administration workbench and user rights to perform operations on folders.

To create a new Folder:

  1. In the Administration workbench select File > New > Administration > Folder.
    Note:
    If you want to create a child folder, select the parent folder in the navigation pane first.
  2. Complete the General tab.

    Field

    Description

    Name

    Enter a unique, logical name for the Folder. You can enter up to 32 alphanumeric characters.

    Label

    Enter an optional free-text description for the Folder. You can enter up to 128 alphanumeric characters.  

    Folder Type

    You can only create a Work Folder and this option is selected by default. For details, see Folder types.

    Parent Folder

    If the new Folder is a child Folder, this field displays the name of the parent Folder. This field is non-modifiable.

    If the Folder is itself a parent Folder, this field is empty.

    A parent Folder can nest up to five levels of sub-Folders.  

    Originating Entity

    The system supplies this value.
