The Integration-Services-Diagram comprises a set of elements common to all graphical tools (Diagrams and Atlas tabs) in the Composer product.
Refer to Working with graphical tools for details on the following common elements:
The Integration-Services-Diagram allows you to work graphically with a subset of the following objects:
After you complete the definition of all objects on the Diagram, you can:
The Diagram tab provides a horizontal toolbar, a vertical toolbar, and a main screen area, where you graphically define the layout of your network of objects. This tab also provides an Overview pane that displays a global view of the Diagram. Via the Overview pane, you can focus on a specific area of the main screen display.
Use the icons on the horizontal toolbar to add new, undefined objects to the Diagram. Position the cursor over any icon to display a description of that icon.

The way you define your Integration-Services-Diagram, or in other words, the way you add objects to the Diagram, depends on your starting point. The Diagram tab provides three alternative starting points for defining an Integration-Services-Diagram:
To position existing objects on the Diagram, drag-and-drop the object from the left pane or from the Entity Browser to the Diagram.

Drag-and-drop a... |
to add... |
|---|---|
|
HostGroup |
the HostGroup and all the Hosts,Axway Servers and Partners that it contains. |
|
Host |
the Host and all the Axway Servers and Applications located on that Host. |
|
Axway Server |
the Axway Server to the Diagram. |
|
Application |
the Application to the Diagram. |
|
Partner |
the Partner to the Diagram. |
If you drag-and-drop two software objects that have an existing Channel between them, Composer also adds the Channel object and displays the link on the Diagram.
If you have not yet defined any of the objects that you want to include in the Diagram, you can only use the Diagram as a design tool where you sketch an outline of the infrastructure. Although you can position empty objects on the Diagram, those objects have no meaning until you define and link them via a Channel.
